NP Led Clinics

The Ministry of Health and Long Term Care has announced the call for proposals for wave 3 of the NP led clinics. A total of 14 clinics will be approved in this round. The deadline for submissions is 5:00 pm EDT June 25, 2010.  The clinics will be awarded in the summer of 2010 and are expected to be open and taking patients by summer of 2011.

NPAO is providing a range of services to members and interested individuals and groups.

  • Teleconference with presentations from two clinics on lessons learned in the process of  developing proposals and discussion on over 20 questions ranging from governance to team composition to program design.
  • Message board discussion group (members only access)
  • Links to the 12 approved clinic leads
  • Support to recruit interest from NPs to submit letters of commitment
  • Links to other professions to recruit interest and letters of commitment

Ideas re NP Commitment Letter

  • identify your practice specialty (PHC, Adult, Paeds),
  • how your skills would benefit the clinic
  • comment on why you are interested (i.e., something about the model of care, the patient population,  location, proposal leaders, etc.).
  • keep the letter to one page and you do not need to attach a CV or resume.
