Continuing Education

NPAO Regional Representatives often organize or work with members to offer education programs and/or conferences for NPs at the regional level. If you have provided an email address, you should receive information on these events from your Regional Rep. If you are not receiving emails from your Regional Rep, please forward your current email address to info@npao.org or also visit website http://www.npao.org.  Some of these programs are listed in the NPAO newsletter. The following are examples of some regional education sessions.

Northwestern Ontario : this group has organized a full day conferences covering topics such as asthma and dermatology. The next conference will be in Thunder Bay in May 2004 with a focus on depression and dementias. Conferences take a multidisciplinary approach with speakers from various professions including physicians, NPs, pharmacists, public health, physiotherapists and respiratory therapists. Information nights are held on a regular basis with topics such as reading X-Rays.

Central Ontario : A wide variety of educational sessions have been offered on topics ranging from use of anti-virals in varicella infections to a hands-on MSK assessment with Dr. Janice Harvey to media relations with staff from RNAO.
