The NP Donna Ruffo Bursary for Leadership in Geriatrics recognize and honor Nurse Practitioners who have demonstrated exceptional leadership and excellence in the care of older adults. This award celebrates the dedication, skill, and compassion that Nurse Practitioners bring to geriatric care and acknowledges their contributions to advancing the field of geriatrics. Whether through direct patient care, leadership in the development of geriatric initiatives, or peer mentorship, the recipient of this award exemplifies the highest standards of care and commitment to improving the quality of life for older adults.

Selection Criteria:
Nominees for the NP Donna Ruffo Geriatrics Award should meet the following criteria:

1. Excellence in Geriatric Care:
   Demonstrates outstanding clinical expertise and a compassionate approach to the care of older adults, improving patient outcomes and promoting wellness.
2. Leadership and Advocacy:
   Shows leadership in advancing the practice of geriatric care, including advocacy for older adults, staff education, policy development, or initiatives aimed at improving geriatric care at the community, institutional, or organizational level.
3. Contributions to Geriatrics:
   Contributes significantly to the field of geriatrics, whether through innovation, research, leadership, mentorship, or active involvement in professional organizations or community efforts focused on aging.
4. Peer or Patient Recognition:
   Demonstrates strong relationships with peers and patients, and is recognized by colleagues or patients for making a lasting impact on the quality of care for older adults
