The NP Donna Ruffo Educational Award for Nurse Practitioners ($500)

This education award is designed to support Nurse Practitioners (NPs) who are wanting to pursue further education and training in the field of geriatrics aimed to enhance their skills and knowledge, advance their practice and make a significant impact on the care of older adults across all practice settings.

Selection Criteria:
Nominees for the NP Donna Ruffo Educational Award should meet the following criteria:

• Must be an NPAO Member
• Must be enrolled or planning to enroll in a geriatrics-focused educational program, such as a specialized certification course or a continuing education program that focuses on aging-related healthcare.
• Commitment to Geriatric Care: The applicant must demonstrate a strong commitment to working with older adults and improving geriatric care in their practice and show a desire to continue serving the aging population.

Application Requirements:

Applicants must provide a written statement (250-500 words) detailing:

• • Their passion for geriatrics and how they plan to incorporate this knowledge into their practice.
  • Their current experience working with older adults, including challenges and successes.
  • Specific goals they hope to achieve through further education and how it will impact their practice.
  • Applicants must provide educational program details in the form of a copy of the admission letter or course registration that confirms enrollment in a geriatrics-focused continuing education program.
