Following the recent birth of his child, and his wife’s subsequent life-threatening illnesses in hospital due to a blood infection, Cambridge MPP Rob Leone said he’s gained an even greater appreciation for nurses.
On Friday, while touring the Waterloo Region Nurse Practitioner-led clinic on Water Street, he learned more about their recent contributions to healthcare, as well as the challenges they face practicing in Ontario.
Leone was one of dozens of politicians across the province taking part in the 13th annual Take Your MPP to Work event – a Nursing Week tradition organized by the Registered Nurses’ Association of Ontario.
