Residents of Kitchener will have one more health care option when the first nurse practitioner-led clinic opens in a few weeks.

Called a satellite clinic to their Cambridge location, the Kitchener site on Pioneer Drive will offer the same services as Cambridge, just a bit closer to home.

The nurse practitioner-led clinic focuses on building relationships with patients, said Paula Carere, the clinic’s director.

“Our philosophy is to partner with our patients, which is appealing and helpful for people who want to be informed of their health care needs. We can also negotiate with patients instead of informing them of what they have to do,” she said.

This will be the second nurse practitioner-led clinic in the region and it will officially open on Oct. 1.
