Ontario’s Nurse Practitioners Celebrate International Women’s Day
TORONTO (March 8, 2025) – Today on International Women’s Day — and every day — the Nurse Practitioners’ Association of Ontario (NPAO) celebrates the hard work and accomplishments of female Nurse Practitioners (NPs) and their allies across the province. As the professional voice for over 5,400 NPs across Ontario, the majority of whom identify as women, NPAO proudly supports their expertise and leadership in driving innovation and exceptional care.
“NPs are at the forefront of transformative healthcare, leading with expertise, compassion, and innovation,” said Dr. NP Michelle Acorn, Chief Executive Officer of NPAO. “On International Women’s Day, we celebrate the incredible contributions of female NPs who continue to break barriers, advocate for their patients, and improve healthcare outcomes across Ontario.”
NPAO is committed to continuing to advocate for policies and initiatives that empower and support NPs in their crucial work as healthcare leaders. NPs champion equitable access to timely, high-quality care, supporting Ontarians across the province by leveraging their skills to drive system and organizational improvements as well as positive patient outcomes.
