Topic #2: Communications & Updates | Presenter Amanda

Communications from NPAO head office will contain all province wide announcements to NPs.  LHIN rep communications contain local issues, announcements, and opportunities.

• This is Nursing Week. We have 3 webinars this week with various Ministry officials. They will be recorded and archived on the website.
• Mailchimps sent to members

•  Clinician who carry out suicide risk assessment research study
• Geriatric Institute June 12, 2019 at Ryerson University
• PLP survey sent to all members to be closed by Friday with results sent to the Ministry. Excellent response to date with over 1000 responses.

Topic #3: Regional Reports – From Members/LHINs| Presenter All

Discussion – Issues & Opportunities as presented by members:

• Jessica has had inquiries from the Barrie FHT which employs 40-50 NPs, regarding the status of PLP with NPAO. The FHT has questions and is unclear about the value/need for PLP/LA4NPs. Claudia offered to attend a teleconference with Jessica to provide background. Jessica will send Claudia the contact details for the call.
• Willi had a meeting with her MPP to discuss NP role and local issues. All reps are encouraged to meet with their MPPs, bring a colleague to the meeting. NPAO has pamphlets and fact sheets which you can bring to the meeting. Connect with Claudia to discuss speaking points ahead of your meeting. Take pictures for posting on social media.

Topic #4: Other Business | Presenter Reps  

• Member engagement

• Thunder Bay Booster Day planning is underway, date is May 24. Sara is involved in the planning. If any other reps are interested in planning a Booster Day for their regions they can contact Sara and Amanda for information.
• Visits to IP students in June have been confirmed for Windsor U (Willi), Ottawa U (Suzanne, English & French presentations), and Sara (Laurentian). Claudia will attend Queen’s U (and possibly Story).

• Feedback for NPAO Board of Directors
• Amanda asked the group for any feedback for the Board, which would be shared at the next Board meeting. There was no feedback. Amanda encouraged everyone to send any suggestions to her.
