NPAO Regional Representative Meeting Minutes
November 26, 2018, 8pm

Welcome
-welcome and introduction of representatives
-confidentiality form – new members must sign, old members; still applies
-reviewed conflicts of interest – must declare
-web site – access to documents will be accessible on the website by the end of next week – once you log on there will be a ‘regional rep’ button with resources, minutes, etc
Communications
-New Director of Regional Representative Committee – Amanda Rainville – will start in January
Claudia will continue to attend as NPAO staff support
-Membership renewal: year ended October 31st, any difficulties renewing please communicate them with Claudia
-great student/new grad rate
-please remind people to know to renew
-new benefits flyer re. NPAO membership on the website – Claudia will send out in email post meeting so that we can share
-Queen’s Park Day – successful, met with MPP’s, mentioned in question period
-Insurance Company refusal update – becoming an ongoing issue again. An email will be sent to all members in the next week with update. Claudia has been in touch with national insurance group: Canadian Life and Insurance Association regarding this. There will be a webinar. NPAO will be providing members with letter that they can share insurance companies if NP signature is not recognized. Can sometimes be an issue not just with insurance company as a whole, but between policies. Encouraged to share experiences on social media.
-New Barriers form – survey link sent out to members, to be sent in, will be collated and brought to Provincial Chief Nursing Officer to move to remove further barriers to practice. Updates will be provided regarding this initiative to members quarterly.
Other Business
-Website redesign – Looking for volunteers to help with looking at the design/layout of the website. Rajesh and Stroyan volunteered.

-can use survey monkey to send out link in mailchimp to do a member survey
