CCM = Provincial Case and Contact Management Solution; PHO = Public Health Ontario; NOC = COVID19 Provincial Diagnostic Network Operations Center; CCSO = Critical Care Services Ontario; dBCS = Daily Bed Census; CRCI = COVID-Related Critical Illness (COVID-Related Critical Illness (CRCI) is defined as: Admission to the ICU because of a clinical syndrome consistent with COVID, AND the patient has had a positive test that is consistent with acute COVID illness. COVID + is a sub-set of CRCI patients whose last COVID test was positive.)

** Effective reproduction number (Rt) is updated twice weekly and not daily. Rt is not calculated for PHU Regions with case counts <12 over the reporting period.

SPGCC = Provincial Case and Contact Management System; PHO = Public Health Ontario; COR = Provincial COVID-19 Diagnostic Network Operations Center; SOSMPC = Ontario Critical Care Services; RqL = Daily bed count; MGLC = COVID-19-related serious illness (COVID-19-related serious illness means illness leading to admission to intensive care due to a clinical syndrome corresponding to COVID-19, AND the test result is consistent with active COVID-19. COVID + is a secondary series of patients who last tested positive for COVID.)

  • Ontario Releases Updated COVID-19 Modeling for Second Wave . The Ontario government today released updated COVID-19 modeling, which shows the province is experiencing a second surge in cases similar to what other jurisdictions have experienced. The province is providing the public with full transparency about the consequences if Ontarians are not vigilant in adhering to public health measures. The Chief Medical Officer of Health says Ontarians must be vigilant in adhering to public health measures to reduce the number of new cases and the spread of the virus.
  • Ontario Delivers $ 2.8 Billion COVID-19 Fall Preparedness Plan . The Ontario government has developed a $ 2.8 billion COVID-19 fall preparedness plan to ensure the province’s health care, long-term care and education systems are prepared for the immediate challenges of the fall, including a second wave of COVID-19 and the upcoming flu season. Keeping Ontarians Safe: Preparing for Future Waves of COVID-19 will enable the province to quickly identify, prevent and respond to surges and waves of the virus to protect the health and safety of all Ontarians.
